Alumni Board Meeting

Brothers:   I hope things are going well for you and your families this Spring.   As you know, the Texas Rho chapter  hosted it's annual Spring Alumni & Dad Golf Tournament this past weekend in Waco.

Before the tournament, the Alumni board hosted a meeting with interested alumni and the chapter executive board.  I want to take this time to send out the meeting notes (see below) and thank those who attended for their support.   The alumni in attendance included Russ Keveryn ('90), Bill Withrow ('88), Roger Davis, Charlie Daniel ('88), and Mark Brooks ('91).

I also wanted to send out a note, thanking the alumni body for their resounding support of the Ritual drive.   The ritual is an important part of being a Sig Ep.  I would suggest that with the reality of changing chapters traditions, the Ritual is the only thing that binds us across the years and to our brothers across the country.  In addition, the ritual is an important reminder to us as to how we should leave our lives.

It is obvious that many of us still carry the ritual with us.   The alumni have pledged and largely delivered a total of $2,214 to cover replacements on all the requested ritual items.   When you include the gavel auction, the alumni raised over $2,400.  Again the active chapter was overwhelmed with our level of support.   I would like to thank  Jeff Williams ('90), Mike Gary ('90), Roger Davis ('83), and Tommy Lucas ('99) for providing the inspiration (Jeff & Tommy) and the muscle to make this drive happen (Mike & Roger).

A special thanks should also go out to the following people for contributing:

Grant Gamster ('86) $362.5
Duane Rensby ('88) $250
Ron Forrester ('82) $162.5
Glen Coward ('87) $162.5
Paul Fisher ('90) $140.5
David Newberry ('91) $108.5 & Item Donation
Jeff Williams ('90) $100
Mark Brooks ('91) $100
Bill Withrow ('88) $100
Mike Gary ('90) $95
Mark Lynn ('94) $75
Chris Monroe ('87) $75
Stephen Monroe ('94) $72.25
Kurt Carpenter ('94) $72.25
Jason Petermeier ('94) $58
Jim Beam ('87) $53
Todd Speer ('90) $50
Mike Hull ('95) $50
David Dooley ('86) $50
Boone Atkins ('90) $45
Brad Burnfield ('90) Sword Donation

Finally, I would like to remind you of our 2001 activities.  On April 21st we will be having a 'Homecoming Baylor Baseball'.  Details are available at http://www.sigepbaylor.com/

Please drop me a line if you have any questions or concerns.

Spring Golf Tournament

Thanks to everyone who came out for the Spring Alumni Golf Tournament.  We'd like to get some feedback from those who participated so please reply to this email if you have a comment. The tournament raised about $1250 for the chapter which is outstanding.

As mentioned above, the response to the ritual drive was very impressive
