Mission Statement
The Texas Rho alumni board was formed with the objective to foster an environment of continuous improvement in undergraduate operations which will promote the positive development of Balanced Men both within the men of the undergraduate chapter and our fellow alumni brothers to include improving organization involvement, to act as a financial custodian and supporter, and finally to provide long-term outlook and continuity.

Alumni Board Officer Responsibilies

President

Responsibilites:  Conduct and reside at all alumni board meetings.  Ensure duties and plans are implemented successfully.  Set schedule for alumni board meetings.  Implement and maintain a risk management program.  Communicate with chapter, University, and Sigma Phi Epsilon Headquarters.

II Implement Risk Management Programs
Objective: Work with the chapter to foster and environment which proactively works to minimize the civil, criminal, and organization risk of all members with respect to their Sigma Phi Epsilon experience.

Vice President of Development

Responsibilies:  Promote the physical and mental wellbeing of Texas Rho in efforts to achieve a more balance man, chapter and national brotherhood. Sound Mind. Sound Body.

I Chapter Education
Objective: Provide the brotherhood with topical information as it relates to living a life of high quality, preventative health strategies and responsible decision making.
Goal: Provide monthly "Break Out" sessions. Sessions will be 1 hour educational seminars. Topics to include: Substance Abuse, Stress Management, Healthy Relationships, and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD). Seminars to be interactive and informative creating an open environment for brothers to discuss topics in a safe environment. Issues addressed are those pertinent to the age group, Baylor University, and Sig Ep.

II Chapter Counselor
Objective: As needed, provide brothers with counseling and guidance for personal, interpersonal and educational concerns.
Goal: Make available 24 hours a day a person trained in crisis intervention, and experience working with psychological and emotional illness. Provide individual and family counseling when appropriate. Coordinate needs of brothers with the services offered by Baylor University when available.

III Brotherhood Development – Pledge Program
Objective: Work with active pledge trainer to design, implement, and reinforce a pledge program that complies with all standards of Sigma Phi Epsilon. Design, implement, and reinforce a pledge program that instills pride, tradition, brotherhood, character, and individual well-being without sacrificing the integrity of the pledge or fraternity.
Goal: Have pledge program designed and implemented prior to bid day. Educate membership on program structure and program philosophy. Develop a program that is based on positive reinforcement. Weekly review of program during pledgeship. Promote alumni involvement in rituals and initiation. Establish a pledge / alumni retreat with the intent on educating the pledge class on alumni relations and post graduate responsibility.

IV Brotherhood Development – Membership
Objective: Promote discussions, activities and retreats that foster a more unified and cohesive brotherhood.
Goal: Establish a yearly alumni / executive board retreat with the intent on improving alumni relations and offering expansive guidance towards chapter development. Establish a membership retreat each semester directed towards chapter goal setting, improved chapter communication, and leadership development.

V Mentor Program
Objective: Maintain Texas Rho alumni involvement in the mentor program established by nationals. Promote use of the mentor program by active membership. Encourage healthy career development.
Goal: Initiate the mentor program for Texas Rho. Recruit Texas Rho alumni to participate in the program. Educate active membership about the mentor program.

Vice President of Financial Operations

Responsibility: Ensure the financial well being of both the alumni board and undergraduate chapter while planning for future needs.

I Fundraising
Objective: To increase alumni donations through organized events, increased alumni participation, or direct solicitation.
Goal: Calculate what current yearly alumni donations are and develop a plan to increase those donations by 50% a year over the next 5 years. Organize events that will both raise money and increase alumni involvement in the chapter.
II Chapter Operations
Objective: Work with the chapter vice president of finance to ensure the chapter gets set up on the online billing service. To provide guidance and answer any questions that the VP of finance might have once the system has been set up
Goal: Educate the current VP of finance on how to set up and use the online billing service. Provide enough assistance and motivation so that the account can be up and running by the Fall 1999 semester. To be available to any current member that might have a question regarding how the account is set up or how it handles certain situations. Provide guidance to future VP of finances, and to track the usefulness, if any, that the online billing service provides the chapter.

III Undergraduate Financial Affairs
Objective: Work with the VP of finance for the undergraduate chapter to ensure that a budget has been made for the upcoming semester, and to review the budget throughout the semester to ensure that the budget is being followed.
Goal: Have the VP of finance work out a complete budget before the upcoming semester begins. Educate the VP of finance on how to use Quicken and set up the budget and the checking account on Quicken. Ensure that the future VP of finance is familiar with Quicken and how the accounts are handled before he takes control of his office. Oversee the checking account and budget to ensure that funds are being properly spent. Oversee the active members to ensure that their balances are being paid in a timely manner. Expel members who are unable or unwilling to pay their dues.

IV Alumni Financial Affairs
Objective: Develop a budget for the use of the alumni donations that are collected. Set up two accounts for alumni donations to be deposited into. Provide funds to the active chapter to help out with scholarships, newsletters, and rush.
Goal: Create a budget before the upcoming semester begins. Set up one checking account through the undergraduate chapter to be used primarily for petty cash. Make sure the Educational fund through nationals has been set up and find out how donations can be made directly to the account. Use quicken to develop the budget and to track both accounts. Increase the alumni donations so that more financial help can be provided to the chapter.
