Campaign for the Balanced Man

Today's reality is... Sigma Phi Epsilon is the preeminent fraternity in the country according to its peers.  This is a tribute to the undergraduates today and to alumni who created this outstanding legacy.  The other reality is... our Texas Rho chapter is lagging in endowment support behind many of the other fraternities present on the Baylor campus.  The Campaign for the Balanced Man is our response, so that we have the strength in the future to assist our undergraduate chapter with scholarship and leadership support.  Demands on undergraduates finances are beginning to far exceed their resources.  If someone looks at Sigma Phi Epsilon's most successful chapters over time, it is clear that alumni financial and volunteer support has been a key success factor.    Your investment adds strength to our chapter... strength that is directed to the development of the individual Brother.   Our Texas Rho chapter is going to be strong in the future because alumni giving on a regular, unrestricted basis will provide the resources to meet the needs of the undergraduate actives.  When you invest in Sigma Phi Epsilon you create a legacy that continues the value you received.  With broad support from its alumni, Sigma Phi Epsilon will continue to provide a first class experience in an ever-more challenging world.   If alumni invest in Sigma Phi Epsilon to help build long term resources, our young Brothers will have the tools they need to continue our Fraternity's great record of leadership.

Help endow the Texas Rho Balanced Man Scholarship.  The key to a chapter running this program effectively starts with having the money to offer the scholarship.  All gifts given to the 'restricted' Texas Rho Educational Foundation fund will be acknowledged in the Texas Rho Newsletter and on the website and receipted to you for tax purposes.  This endowment is initially restricted to fund the Balanced Man Scholarship.  Rush continues to grow increasingly competitive among the many fraternities on Baylor's campus and ensuring the consistent implementation of the Balanced Man Scholarship gives our undergraduate chapter a greater presence and an advantage in recruiting while providing a positive program even our Baylor constituents support. As the fund grows, the annual income will also provide other scholarships for our undergraduate members and for educational or leadership programs.  The larger our fund grows the more we will have each year for these programs.  This is why your participation is so important.

Back in 1995, our Conclave saw the passing of legislative action which encouraged chapters to develop a plan with its alumni to establish a $50,000 scholarship fund, restricted for its educational programs.  This may seem like a lofty goal to a few of you, but we are quickly becoming a mature membership (with close to 650 alumni) that has the power to easily make this goal attainable.  Your participation is the most important thing...  so please participate by pledging any amount.  Brothers helping Brothers is what sets Texas Rho's Educational Foundation apart from the wide array of options you face in charitable giving.

Thanks for your support,
The SigEp Alumni Board of Texas Rho
