April 5, 2003 – Morning clouds led to bright afternoon sunshine and sharpened pencils gave way to erasers today as Texas Rho held its 16^th Annual Alumni/Dad Golf Tournament at Bear Ridge Golf Club in Waco.  With roughly 90 players assembled, this year’s tournament offered foursomes, fellowship and fajitas while raising almost $3500 to be shared between the Alumni Board and the Chapter. 

This year’s winners, representing the ‘Champions Tour’, were Richard Kennedy (Fall ’78), Charles Gamble (Fall ’79), Eric Fisher (Spring ’81) and Tom Kennedy (Fall ’83).   Finding a tortilla in every hole when they arrived seemed not to bother the group as they shot 58 (14-under) to beat the field. 

Longest drive was struck by Martin Dossett and the Closest to the Pin prize went to Aaron Stephenson (reportedly with photos to back up his claim of being 1” from the hole).  Many others picked up impressive door prizes at the fajita dinner that followed.  This year’s event seemed calmer than many in the past with no table dances offered as prizes, no male frontal nudity and only two carts having to be lifted back onto the cart paths.
