Chapter Awarded Cincinnatus at CLA 2001

The active chapter won the Cincinnatus Award for service, it was presented to us through Project America.  It was a 8" silver inscribed plate, and a $100 check for our community service programs.  A meeting at the Carlson Leadership Academy with Grand President Tragos went very well.  Supposedly, we were referred to as "a breath of fresh air"; he had nothing negative to say about us, whereas he was yelling at literally every other chapter.  It was a good experience.  -Tommy Lucas (President 2001)

Baylor Baseball Homecoming April 21, 2001

Mark you calendars for Sigma Phi Epsilon’s first annual “Baseball Homecoming”.  Alumni brothers Kim Moore ('78) & Bill Kosub ('78) thought this would be another great way for all us to get together this spring.  The event is a planned celebration of America’s game and Sig Ep’s close ties with the team.

The team looks to be a good one this year, so this is a good opportunity for family and friends to get together.  In the past, alumni brother have expressed an interest in scheduling events where families could participate, so I would encourage people to take advantage of this opportunity and make it a great Sig Ep tradition.  For the rest of you, there has also been talk of taking the opportunity to christen George’s new patio.

 Homecoming 2000 - 11/10-11/00

   VS

November 11th is Homecoming.  The game is at 1:00 p.m. against Missouri .   Tailgate should start around 11:00.  This will be a family oriented occasion with a full spread from Vitek's and maybe some of our own cooking.  This is always the best opportunity for our younger brothers to get to know some of the older guys and get a feel for how Sig Ep used to be.  We want to encourage as many families to come as possible, but the hotels fill up quickly so now is the time to make a reservation.  The daytime activities include the tailgate, the football game, then a postgame party of which the location is yet to be announced.  George's (as usual) on Friday night for all the early arrivals.

footballanim.gif (36905 bytes)The tailgate is located at the usual place.  Next to the practice field, behind the visitors section.  There is always a large Sig Ep flag that flies over our tent.  We tailgate away from the other Baylor organization and usually have the largest attendance.
In order to get the best setup possible we are encouraging donations before Homecoming.

25th Annual Tri-State Tournament - University of Texas at Arlington  April 8-9, 2000

I talked to Brian R. the guy in charge of TRI-STATE and he said that the spots for 30 teams will fill up pretty fast.  So this means that we need to get the money in asap.  I am planning on putting 2 or 3 DTA teams for members and one good team.  For the alumni, there had been talk last year of maybe a member/alumni team mixture. I need to know what the plans are so I can try to set things up.  Also, I am making Jerseys for the members again!   Do the alumni teams want jersey ?  If you do you need to contact me asap so I can start to get prices from the place we did from last year.  The sooner we get this done the easier it will be on me and the people helping me!

Brothers, Texas Kappa (UT-Arlington) is hosting their 25th Annual Tri-State softball tournament. We are expecting about 30 teams of undergraduate and alumni brothers. The tournament will be held April 8-9 and the entrance fee of $150.00 is due by March 29. It will take place in Arlington, Texas, which is between Dallas and Fort Worth. This is a great opportunity to play some softball and meet brothers from around the country. If your chapter is interested, please contact me or Brian Rosencranz at sigepbdr@yahoo.com   Also, all proceeds will benefit Kidd's Kids, a local charity for terminally ill children.

  Homecoming '99 - 11/13/99

footballanim.gif (36905 bytes)November 13th is Homecoming.  We are trying to make this years event the best one in recent years.  The game is at 1:00 p.m. against Colorado.   Tailgate should start around 11:00.  This will be a family oriented occasion with a full spread from Vitek's and maybe some of our own cooking.  Hopefully this will be a good opportunity for myself and many of our younger brothers to get to know some of the older guys and get a feel for how SigEp used to be.  We want to encourage as many families to come as possible, but the hotels fill up quickly so now is the time to make a reservation.  The daytime activities include the tailgate, the football game, then to the ranch to play volleyball and socialize with the membership.

homecoming99logo.jpg (47708 bytes)The evenings festivities will include a ranch party with Casey Kelly.  We want this Homecoming to help improve alumni relations.  We need your participation.  The majority of us do not want to graduate and just disappear.  We hope that we will get a good turn out at the tailgate, but we do not want our efforts to go to waste.   Please reply to my email address if you plan on attending so that we can purchase the correct amount of food and map out the days events accordingly.

The tailgate is located at the usual place.  Next to the practice field, behind the visitors section.  There is always a large SigEp flag that flies over our tent.  We tailgate away from the other Baylor organization and usually have the largest attendance.

In order to get the best setup possible we are encouraging donations before Homecoming.   Please respond to my email with any pledge amount and I will give you our PO Box and a more detailed account of the weekend's plans.  This will be something that you will want to put on your calendar.  Also, please forward this information to other alumni that are not subscribed to the listserv.

Fraternally,
Conner Sheehan
